SPI is all about Safety First. Our company puts value in protecting employees’ welfare and of its property. currently, our terminal is equipped with a comprehensive fire protection system installed around our storage facility, mechanical rooms, gantry and common areas. Once triggered, the terminal goes into a “full” and “auto”
Operation stoppage.

To further enhance Safety, the company invested on having its own fire trucks which are manned by experienced and well-trained fire fighters.

Having our own Safety Team, SPI formed an alliance not only with Bureau of Fire Protection but as well as with other locators of Phoenix Petroterminal and Industrial Park.

BFP Launches BMO Fire Olympics

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), through the Municipality of Calaca Fire district, recently launched its first-ever Mayor Boogle Ona Urban Fire Olympics in observance of the Fire Prevention Month.

With the theme “Ligtas na Pilipinas ating Kamtin, Bawat Pamilya ay Sanayin, Kaalaman sa Sunog ay Palawakin”, representatives from four barangays and six locators under the municipality graced the event last March 20, 2019.

Among the participants were South Pacific Inc.’s employees in its efforts to fulfil its mission not only through trainings but in engaging in a friendly-competition as well.

One of the highlights of the BFP Olympics tested the skills and teamwork of the participants through demonstrating their firefighting competencies at the oval of the Calaca National High School where the event was held.

Aside from this, various Information Education Campaign (IEC) took place in order to provide the necessary knowledge among its citizens when it comes to fire prevention and safety which was led by Bureau of Fire Protection’s S/Insp.Jonathan A. Malundas alongside Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office’ G. Sherwin R. Comia.

The Olympics was made possible in partnership with Mayor Sofronio Manuel Ona.
