SPI spearheads Adopt-a-Tree Program

In its pledge to promote a greener and healthier environment, South Pacific Incorporated recently spearheaded its first-ever “Adopt-a-Tree Program” .

In coordination with the Department of Energy and Natural Resources – City Environment & Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO), employees go hand-in-hand as they planted seedlings consisting of mango, guyabano, bayabas, santol, atis, and dalandan.

“We are very touched to know that your company is very much willing to partake in helping to save our environment. I hope na magtuluy-tuloy ito para ma-lessen iyong problema sa environment natin ngayon.” Expressed Cherrylet M. De Guzman, Ecosystems Management Specialist II, DENR CENRO – Calaca, Batangas.

After the orientation on the proper handling of the seedlings, participants were divided into groups per the seedlings that they will be planting while respective holes were already scattered.

“We would like to thank everyone who are here today. Ang inyong suporta at partisipasyon sa activity nating ito ay makakatulong sa ating lahat. Sana ay patuloy nating suportahan ang mga initiative ni SPI para sa ikauunlad ng bawat isa.” Delivered Joey Soriano, Terminal Manager – Calaca, Batangas.

A total of 150 seedlings were planted inside the Calaca Industrial Seaport Corp.

This green initiative is part of the company’s pledge to promote a cleaner and greener environment.
