BFP launches BMO Fire Olympics

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), through the Municipality of Calaca Fire disctrict, recently launched its first-ever Mayor Boogle Ona Urban Fire Olympics in observance of the Fire Prevention Month.

With the theme “Ligtas na Pilipinas ating Kamtin, Bawat Pamilya ay Sanayin, Kaalaman sa Sunog ay Palawakin”, representatives from four barangays and six locators under the municipality of Calaca graced the event last March 20, 2019.

Among the participants were South Pacific Inc.’s employees in its efforts to fulfill its mission not only through trainings but in engaging in a friendly-competition as well.

One of the highlights of the BFP Olympics tested the skills and teamwork of the participants through demonstrating their firefighting compentecies at the oval of the Calaca National High School where the event was held.

Lead by Bureau of Fire Protection’s S/Insp.Jonathan A. Malundas alongside Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office’ G. Sherwin R. Comia, various Information Education Campaign (IEC) took place in order to provide the necessary knowledge among its citizens when it comes to fire prevention and safety.

The Olympics was made possible in partnership with Mayor Sofronio Manuel Ona.
