SPI is all about Safety First. Our company puts value in protecting our personnel, property, and the environment. Our terminal is equipped with a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system that uses computers, networked data communications, and graphical user interfaces for high-level process supervisory management. We can monitor and operate all the terminal’s processes from our Control Room at a safe distance away from the tanks, valves, and pipelines. The system has the capability to warn us of any impending trouble, at any given time, so that we can proactively react to keep our terminal within safe operating conditions always.
To further enhance safety, a network of safety valves, gas detectors, flame detectors, and emergency shutdown devices have been installed around the entire facility that will detect abnormal conditions should they develop, and automatically shut down areas in potential danger.
In the unlikely event that a fire breaks out within the terminal or neighboring locators, the company invested on its own fire trucks which are manned by experienced and well-trained fire fighters. Furthermore, we have formed alliances not only with Bureau of Fire Protection, but we also established mutual aid agreements with other companies inside the industrial park.
