In celebration of the 156th birthday of Gen. Eleuterio G. Marasigan, the Municipality of Calaca conducts the CalingAplaya (Calaqueñong Mapagkalinga sa Aplaya) 2022 – a simultaneous coastal clean-up activity in various barangays within Calaca.

The activity, which was officiated by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) led by Mr. John Christopher Arandia, started as early as 6:00 AM. Among the barangays cleaned were Brgy. Sinisian, Brgy. Talisay, Brgy. Puting Bato West, and Brgy. Salong.

Moreover, the initiative is part of the celebration of the Month of Ocean (MOO) celebrated every month of May by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 57, issued in 1998.

This coastal clean-up was graced by various members of the local government, organizations, and private companies.
